The brief was to produce an identity and designs for Fontanka Books’
paperback format, hardback format and quarterly literary magazine.

The covers are text only with large text in Janson. Italics and colours were to
create some ‘play’. The colours used are intended to reflect the subject matter in some way. For example, for the ‘How to read’ series primary colours are used to create a positive step-by-step feel. In the magazine, the subject of each new edition
is brought out by enlarging the titles. The magazines have seasonal colours, to
reflect the season of their issue.
